This is a thick dosa sprinkled with chutney podi while cooking and relished with coriander coconut chutney
INGREDIENTS
3 cups par boiled rice
1 cup urad dal
I cup cooked rice or soaked poha
1/4 tsp methi seeds
1tsp salt.
Oil for frying
METHOD
Soak rice in water for 2- 3 hrs.
Soak urad dal with methi for 1- 2 hrs.
Grind the soaked dal to a fluffy paste.
Grind the rice with cooked rice / poha and methi seeds to a fine paste.
Mix them all .
Leave the batter to ferment overnight.
Make thick dosas, sprinkle chutney podi on the top.
Turn over and drizzle oil on the sides.
Remove from fire.
Serve hot with coriander chutney or sambhar.
CHUTNEY PODI
INGREDIENTS
3/4 th cup urad dal
2-3 dry red chillies
1 tsp sesame seeds
1-2 garlic pods with peel
5-6 curry leaves
1/2 tsp salt or to taste.
METHOD
Dry roast all these ingredients and powder coarsely.
Cool and keep aside in an Airtight jar
CORIANDER CHUTNEY
INGREDIENTS
1 cup chopped coriander.
2 - 3 green chillies or to taste
1 1/2 cup grated fresh coconut
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp sugar.
METHOD
Grind all these ingredients together in a mixer
to a smooth paste.
NOTE : You can also use the ready made chutney podi
available in the stores.
