Dahi vada is prepared by soaking uddina vadas / urad lentil doughnuts in thick dahi /curd /yogurt. It is served as a snack or chaat
INGREDIENTS
4 Pre cooked vada
1 cup thick curd/ yogurt
A pinch of chilly pd
salt to taste
Few coriander leaves
3 tsp sweet chutney (optional)
METHOD
Soak pre-cooked vada in mildly salted hot water.
Let it cool for a while.
Whisk curd with salt.
Squeeze the vada between your palms to remove the water.
Transfer it into a flat dish.
Pour curd over the vadas.
Garnish with chilly pd and corriander leaves
Refrigerate for a couple of hrs for the curd to soak in .
Serve with khari boondi or just as it is
Note
You can add little sugar to your curd to give it a slightly sweet taste.
You can also sprinkle dry roasted and powdered jeera and sweet chutney.
