This is a traditional rice and lentil cake cooked in a pan.
Serves: 4
INGREDIENTS
3 cups rice
1 cup urad dal
1/2 cup sugar or to taste
1/4 tsp salt.
A pinch of baking powder
6-7 cashew chopped
6-7 cashew split into 2
1 tbsp raisins.
1/4 cup clarified butter or desi ghee.
METHOD
Soak and grind rice and urad dal separately, mix together in a bowl and set aside for 4-5 hrs. It should be thick batter.
Heat ghee in a nonstick pan
Mix the baking powder sugar, chopped cashew, and raisins into the batter.
Pour this into the pan.
Garnish with sliced cashew
Cover with a tight lid.
Cook on low to med flame.
Check if a stick comes clean, shows it is cooked.
Remove on to a plate.
Slice and serve.
