Chaar is a tomato and onion based gravy served with rice and dry moong dal
INGREDIENTS
4 Tomatoes
2 medium Onions
1 tsp Whole jeera
1/4 tsp Methi seeds
8 small Garlic cloves
1/2 tsp Chilly pd
1 tsp Coriander pd
1/4 tsp Turmeric pd
1 tsp Salt or to taste
Currry leaves
Coriander leaves
2 1/2 cups water
METHOD
Chop onions and tomatoes into big chunks.
Heat 1 tsp oil in a frying pan.
Add garlic cloves jeera and methi stir fry.
Add onions and tomatoes to the pan and cover with a lid to broil for 10 mins on low heat.
Once the tomatoes and onions become soft switch of the heat and cool it down
Puree it in the mixer grinder.
Heat oil ina pan add mustard seeds, currry leaves, chilly pd, corriander pd and turmeric powder immediately add the puree and stir well.
Add salt and water and bring it to a boil.
Cook on slow heat for another 10 mins and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
Serve with rice or chapati.
