A quick and easy to make lamb dish. Mutton is cooked with tomato pulp and seasoned with spices and boiled green peas.
Serves: 4 - 6
INGREDIENTS
1 kg mutton / lamb (medium pieces preferably shoulder )
6 Tomatoes
2 Onions
2 tbsp ginger - garlic paste
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp chilly pd or to taste
1/4 tsp turmeric pd
2 tsp coriander pd
3 Cardamom
3 cloves
1/ 2 inch cinnamon
Few curry leaves
2 tbsp oil
METHOD
Grind tomatoes, cinamon, cardamom and cloves in a blender .
Pressure cook mutton, tomatoes paste, roughly chopped onions, ginger garlic paste, salt and turmeric pd for 15 -20 mins.
Heat oil in an open pan add curry leaves, chilly pd and coriander pd.
Add boiled mutton with gravy and cook till it dries up completely.
Add boiled peas. ( you can also boil peas along with mutton )
Sprinkle some water and cover the pan with the lid.
Reduce the flame and leave till oil separates.
Garnish it with chopped coriander leaves.
Serve hot with chapati, bread or rice and dal.
