This is a batter fried fish served with french fries and tartar / tomato sauce
Serves : 5 - 6
INGREDIENTS
1 kg fillet of seer fish/ any other fish of your choice
11/4 cup maida /all purpose flour for making the batter
1/4 cup maida to dry coat the fillet of fish
1 tsp salt or to taste
Pepper pd to taste
1 tsp chilly flakes or to taste
1 tbsp cornflour
2 tbsp vinegar
1/4 tsp baking pd
1+1/4 cup water
METHOD
1) Clean and wash fish fillet apply some salt and lime and keep aside in the refrigerator for 1/2 an hr.
2) Wash it again 2- 3 times to remove extra salt and drain it well.
3) Pat it dry with a tissue paper.
4) Rub some salt and pepper on the fillet then coat them with a thin layer of dry flour and keep aside.
5) In a bowl mix flour, baking pd, chilly flakes, oregano seasoning, salt and vinegar.
6) Add water slowly little by little to make a thick batter without lumps.
7) Heat oil in a frying pan and deep fry the fillets dipped in the batter till done. Keep turning in between to fry evenly. Remove in a plate lined with tissue paper to absorb extra oil.
8) Serve hot with french fries and tartar sauce / tomato sauce.
