Mutton Kofta is a traditional Mughlai recipe, which is cooked using minced mutton, yoghurt, gram flour and a melange of spices. This is a lip-smacking main course recipe that you can prepare.
INGREDIENTS
Koftas
250 gms Mutton mince
4 tbsp Roasted channa dal / Gram-flour
2 Green chillies
2 Red chillies
2 Cloves
2 Cardamom
2 Onions
A handful of coriander leaves
6 Garlic cloves
1 tsp Jeera whole
6 tbsp oil
4 tbsp curd / yogurt
Kofta gravy
2 Onions
2 largeTomatoes
1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
1/2 tsp Chilly powder
1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
1 tsp coriander powder
Salt to Taste
METHOD
Koftas
Grind Roasted channa dal in a dry grinder .
Grind 2 onions, garlic, green chillies, red chillies, turmeric , coriander leaves, cloves , cardamom and salt in a mixer.
Add washed and well squeezed mutton mince to the above wet mixture and grind it to a fine paste.
Add roasted channa dal powder and mix it well.
Form round kofta balls and shallow fry them in hot oil till lightly brown.
Keep aside.
Gravy for the kofta
Heat oil golden fry chopped onions remove and keep aside.
Add ginger garlic paste in the remaining oil fry well.
Add chilly pd, coriander pd, turmeric pd, salt and tomato pulp.
Cook them well and when oil separates add koftas to this mixture.
Add 1 cup water and cook on slow fire for 10 - 15 min
Add well beaten yogurt / curd to the above and cook for another 15 min or till done .
Garnish with fried onions and coriander leaves.
Serve with Rice or Chapati or Bread.
