PRAWNS IN SPICY TANGY CURRY

Most of us love prawns. This particular dish tickles our tastebuds. It is spicy, it is tangy and very tasty.



SERVES: 4


INGREDIENTS


  • 750 gms jumbo prawns, shelled and deveined.

  • Marinated with 1/4 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp turmeric.

  • 2 - 3 large onions chopped fine.

  • 3 tomatoes grated

  • 2 tsp ginger garlic paste

  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder

  • 3/4 tsp Kashmiri chilli powder

  • 11/2 coriander powder

  • 1/2 tsp salt or to taste.

  • 2 green chillies cut into two.

  • 3/4 cup chopped coriander leaves.

  • 3 tbsp oil.

  • 1/2 cup water.

METHOD

  1. Heat oil in a wok, fry the chopped onions

  2. Add the ginger garlic paste

  3. Add the tomatoes

  4. Fry for 5 mins.

  5. Add the coriander, chilli turmeric and salt.

  6. Fry till the oil separates.

  7. Add 3/4 of the chopped coriander leaves and green chillies.

  8. Cook well with half cup water till the masala is cooked.

  9. Now add the marinated prawns and mix well.

  10. The prawns might release water. Cook it to a semi dry gravy.

  11. Do not overcook the prawns as they will become hard and chewy.

  12. Remove in a serving dish.

  13. Garnish with the remaining chopped coriander leaves.

  14. Serve with parathas, pulao or breads.
