STEAMED CARAMEL CUSTARD

A quick and easy to make dessert steamed in a pressure cooker . It is a delicious blend of eggs, sugar, milk, bread, vanilla essence and caramel.



INGREDIENTS

  • 3 Eggs

  • 2 Cup milk

  • 6 tbsp Sugar or to taste

  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla essence

  • 1 slice bread

  • 2 tbsp sugar to caramalise


Method

  1. Dissolve sugar in a cooking dish and cook on low flame till it melts and turns into dark brown liquid.

  2. Cool it down.

  3. Add eggs and sugar in a blender.

  4. Add milk and vanilla essence.

  5. Mix in crumbled bread.

  6. Pour this egg and milk mixture into the dish with caramalised sugar.

  7. Place some water in a pressure cooker.

  8. Place a perforated metal plate (cookers usually have them).

  9. Over this place the pudding dish to be steamed.

  10. Cover it with a lid / foil and steam it in a pressure cooker without weight for 20 minutes.

  11. Take the pudding out of the cooker, turn upside down into a dish and serve.
